Fondation Louis Vuitton

Henri Matisse and Ellsworth Kelly

From May 4th to September 9th, 2024, the Fondation Louis Vuitton unveils a new exhibition dedicated to Henri Matisse's "The Red Studio" (1911) and an Ellsworth Kelly retrospective, "Shapes and Colors, 1949-2015."

True to its mission of making art accessible to a broad public, the Fondation Louis Vuitton unveils two major exhibitions for spring 2024. Dedicated to the 1911 masterpiece belonging to the MoMA, "Matisse: The Red Studio" brings together for the first time the works present in Matisse's studio in Issy-les-Moulineaux, accompanied by archive documents and unpublished creations shedding light on the context in which the painting was designed. The major retrospective "Ellsworth Kelly. Shapes and Colors, 1949-2015" celebrates the essential American artist of the 20th century, showcasing over a hundred of his abstract paintings, sculptures, photographs, and drawings.
